Getting
to Know Your Crystals
Introductions should begin as soon as you purchase your crystal. If you acquire
several at once, get to know them one at a time. In this process, it is very helpful
if you can temporarily put aside anything you've learned about this particular
crystal (even if its characteristics were the reason you got it). The idea is
to experience your crystal without preconceptions. A helpful way to begin this
is to hold a crystal and close your eyes. If you are wondering with which hand
you should pick up the crystal, traditional crystal literature says that you should
send energy with your dominant hand and receive it with the non-dominant hand.
I would recommend doing this at first, but as you become more familiar with crystal's
energies switch hands. Some of us are ambidexterouse so whichever hand the crystal
feels most comfortable in should be your first hand to hold it.
Feel the surfaces of the
crystal, some crystals have "hot" spots where it feels very comforting
to rub it in that certain area. Some have bumps "triggers" that also
can be an energy releaser.

Meditation To Begin Meditation with crystals find a quiet peaceful
place you can sit, lay down or anyway you can totally relax and feel comfortable.
When you have a particular problem take a few minutes to think about and define
the problem then gaze deeply into your crystal. Just allow your thoughts to come
and go as your mind stills you may find a solution if not when you end the meditation
just let the problem go quite often a solution will pop into your head later .
Huna Nalu meditations, this form of brief focused total
attention can be quite valuable in crystal work and is one
way of beginning to develop a sensitivity to energy and spiritual information
Pick a sense any sense sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell. Pick an object or
quality related to that sense A food ,a sound the way something feels, a leaf,
and focus your attention on it Or focus all your senses and attention on an object
or idea observe it with your entire being do this for, your initial goal is 10
seconds. Do this anytime it occurs to you to do it. Classically you breathe deeply
while your are doing your focus.
Vipassana is one of the oldest and most
well known. It is also called Insight meditation. one becomes Aware without being
judgmental, of motivations, emotions, thoughts by just gently allowing ones thoughts
to flow paying attention to them without criticism . For many meditations you
can use an open eyed focus such as when you meditate by gazing into your crystal.
There
is also meditation for unblocking clogged energy channels this begins with the
above mentioned, but repeating out loud or internally slowly: I let go of all
fear,.... I let go of all anger,...... I let go of all
pain,.... I let go of all stress (scan your body for tension the face is the hardest
to relax the muscles) I let go of all tension (repeat untill all muscles are relaxed
as possible at this time). With practice it gets easier to relax. I am deeply
centered in my world, (As you inhale) I absorb the positive white light energy
that surrounds me, (on exhale) I release all negative energy. Remember you
